Hello there- I was late on learning about your Hinesburg workshop… only got to stop by and view the trail head wall build.

I notice your other workshops are all back in BF. Will you be having any other Chittenden County workshops? If not are there other recommended workshops a novice could take around here?

    thanks

There are two organizations I am aware of that offer the opportunity to gain a mastercraftsman certificate in dry stone walling. The Dry Stone Walling Association, based in Great Britain, http://www.dswa.org.uk, and the Dry Stone Conservancy in Lexington, Kentucky http://www.drystone.org.

The Dry Stone Conservancy is set up to train wallers in a professional setting. The DSWA runs educational and testing venues only. There are at least six DSWA mastercraftsmen/examiners in the USA (see “overseas” and “professional list” on the DSWA website). Some masters in the craft employ “up and coming” wallers. I work alone, but am occasionally involved in instructing workshops
