Environmental Art and Dry Stone Workshop in Newfoundland

In just three weeks the o.h.(other half) and I will be jumping in the car and driving to Newfoundland for workshops with English Harbour Arts Centre. One activity the 5-day workshop will be engaged in is the creation of an ephemeral environmental art piece. This year we will be working in a scree of loose stone along the coast to fashion something fun.

Past workshops have sketched a wave on the footprint of a derelict old field wall by establishing a guide frame with rope and artist easels, and bringing stones to points just under the line.  Another group hiked to a remote beach and made a circle of stones on the crest of the high-water mark. It was only a visible as a piece of environmental art from the air. The English Harbour village and coastal cliffs along the famous Skerwink Trail were also viewable from Dave Paddon’s float plane.

This year’s 5-day workshop is full but the 2-day workshop still has a place or two left. Register, now! Click HERE to register or contact Deb at jwick911@yahoo.com.
